Hey y'all.
Since it seems the remainder of the admins have pretty much left their proverbial keys at the door, it seems I have a little more authority to wield around here. (Cue maniacal laughter.)
In all seriousness, I'd like to get a better handle on forum management. Just clean a few things up and such, make things easier to find.
As such, beginning with the next episode (Five Faces of Darkness, Part 3, I presume?), I'd like it if we could keep all episode-pertinent discussion here.
My plans are this:
1. Keep the Game Discussion board to general game-related questions and have the Episode board deal with episode-specific issues.
2. I've moved episode-specific threads from Five Faces of Darkness, Part 1 and The Galactic Games (the two most recent episodes) from Game Discussion to the Past Episode Discussion Archive. All moved threads had their titles edited to reflect a style I'd like us to use going forward for episode discussion - a simple tag (like [FFoD2] for this episode) somewhere in the title. No worries if you forget, I'll probably edit it in.
3. During the interbellum, I will move all [FFoD2] threads from Game Discussion - I'm not going to upset the apple cart mid-episode - into Current Episode. Why?
4. In the future, I will allow three or four episodes' worth of content to build up on this board. Every week or so, I'll move a dated episode into the archives. I acknowledge it is sometimes useful to have easy access to threads from recent episodes; however, as TFL is a very "what's good now is bad tomorrow" kind of game, we don't need it all gathered in one place.
5. In time, I will move all other old episode-specific threads from Game Discussion to the relevant Archive board. (Edit: I'm not sure how I'm going to handle episode titling on the older threads, as that may or may not be a ton of work.)
6. Future Postmortems will be posted here, then moved to its archive at an appropriate time.
If anyone disagrees with any of this or has any suggestions, please post them here. Listen, if enough of you think this is insane, maybe it is. Wouldn't be my first insane idea. ;)
Peace.
