I believe the energon nets should have a much stronger/better capture rate. i catch 1 out of 50 i think.

I have been able to net 3 so far, do not know how many runs it has been, but quite a few. . .
Worse netting experience EVER. Been on H10 since Thursday. Results? Zero, zilch, nada, nothing. Lost count of the runs I had, but collected 3.250 ruby so I must have had a few
I've been there. My longest streak without a single net on the hard levels was around 60-70 runs... and couldn't net a single one. That was during the Coronation of Starscream event with Cyclonus as the hard level bosses. Took me 60+ runs on Hard before I finally netted one. It was incredibly frustrating.
5% odds of netting a boss doesn't mean you get 5 bosses in 100 runs.
It means its 5% odds on getting a single one in one try. In simple terms, its like a rolled dice, you need to roll 95+ to net a boss. So in theory you can net 10 in a row if your rolls are lucky, or run 5.000 runs and not net anything.
I did maybe 100 runs, netted 2 bosses on day 1, nothing ever since. Now that i slipped to high 800s in rank, i have to farm some points, but still hoping for a net on a boss, nothing yet btw.
I actually did the math on this. The expectation of being successful more than 5 times out of 100 is about 38.4%. Five successes occurs 18% of the time, and less than that 43.6%. You're also more likely to go 4/100 than 6/100.
Simply put, with a 5% success rate, the odds are firmly against you outperforming and with you underperforming.
You can use the link below to work out binomial probabilities. Set N=100, r=the number of successes out of 100 you'd like to look at, and p=the percent chance of success as a decimal (so 5% becomes .05). The q value updates automatically (as it's defined as 1-p, the chance of failure). The numbers I found above were done with r=5.
I usually play mainly for myself and occasionally for my son. In this episode on my account I've burned through about 600-700 EC. From that I've gotten 3 MTM Tailwind with weapons and managed to net 4 Roadbusters. Since a fully evolved Roadbuster won't make my deck I mainly wanted Tailwind. He's #4 overall in my deck (when you sort your base by overall). He's only beat by Hardshell, Rippersnapper, and Long Haul (again, in *my* deck).
My son hasn't been playing regularly since he's now moved on to Blocksworld, so I figured I'd play for him. Luck with his account was much better. I managed to net 13 Roadbusters so far. Haven't used a single chain. Again, I used about 600-700 EC to get that. He's got 4 MTM Tailwinds and I'm working on getting the final weapon that I need. Both of these cards are the best in his deck. Most of his cards were older R5's with health in the 60k-70k range.
I guess luck was on my side with his account.
got quite lucky this event i catched 2 out of 35 i think, so thats not to bad.
