Of Lag, Cogs, and Friend Rewards

Quick post to highlight some of the issues from Ghost in the Machine, to include the lag, the cogs, and the friend reward system.

Game Lag

As noted on the Frustration & Venting board (here & here), lag has been killer.  This is the first time I've been higher than 20k in my ranking.  Yes, even as a new player I was below 20k.  Now while part of that has been apathy over the rewards and resignation that I'll never get an MTM Brainstorm or Highbrow, the main reason I'm not sitting in Tier 2 right now is because of the game lag.  As in, I can't scan, fight a boss, upgrade or pull medals without the game locking up on my iphone.  Now, while I appreciate the Mobage apology and the "gift" of 15 battlecube recharges for my trouble (REALLY?), it doe…

Hypothetically Speaking, What if We had Trading?

I received a banner alert on my iPhone the other day regarding GI Joe: Battleground.  It proclaimed that “Trading is Live with New Event!”.  I hadn’t played the game since the first month following launch, so I went to confirm the rumor.  General Joe’s blog confirmed it, and posts in the Battleground forum have since confirmed it.

So that got me thinking.

DeNa owns Battleground, so it’s not much of a stretch to hope that they’ll eventually allow trading in Transformers: Legends, as well.  I’m not going to speculate on HOW it would be implemented (anyone in the know as to how it works in Battleground, please enlighten me!), but assuming they do, what would I hope to trade for and what would I offer in trade?  I'm sure other players have been in t…

New Non-Event Cards

We’ve all done it…cracked a plethora of Gold or Silver Warrior Medals and hardly glanced at the results unless the rarity number reads “4” or “NEW!”.  Who knows how many thousands of Common (C), Uncommon (UC) and Rare (R) cards we have sold or used for upgrade over the course of our time playing this game?  Players’ focus is on improving their decks by upgrading the new cards (and rightfully so), which are all Super-Rare (SR) or Ultra-Rare (UR), introduced during new events as Raid, Reward, Campaign, Login Reward, or Friend Code cards.

So why propose new Common, Uncommon and Rare cards and not just give ideas for new Super/Ultra Rares?  It seems like that would be a waste of time, especially for players who won’t give a second glance to a card…

S.O.S. Dinobots & The Omega Corps Commentary

Once again, I feel compelled to comment on event(s) rather than post what I said I would, previously.

S.O.S. Dinobots had enough about it that it demanded attention, and The Omega Corps REALLY needs some commentary.  Here are a few items I noticed, and please comment if you feel I’ve overlooked anything.

SOS DINOBOTS

Episode Characters:

Evolve Sunstorm and Evolve Skywarp are pretty close in ability, being separated by 7k MTM total but with the bulk of the difference being in Defense (2,079 in Skywarp’s favor) and Health (4,855 diff., advantage Skywarp) but with Attack being only 94 points apart.  Both cards are superior to most Raid Tier 3 cards, and are HUGE improvements over the previous Campaign event Evolve cards, Wheelie/Wreck-Gar/Ultra Mag…

Now THIS is "change you can believe in!"

This post begins my discussion of just how to improve Transformers: Legends by re-balancing the event/episode cards.  The previous “Character Card Comparison” posts have highlighted the obvious “deck creep” that has been the standard since the introduction of the events/episodes while also demonstrating the absolute lack of “relative capability” between the character cards.  I’ll begin by getting a few common terms & definitions down before discussing the reasons for rebalancing, outlining how to do it, and then stating a few assumptions that must occur for this to be successful.  My proposed solution(s), while not perfect, will go a long way towards "fixing" this game.

Note: This post is still a “draft,” so I may return with a few edits.

Defi…
